Contemplating abdication

I’ve been a card-carrying member of the carnivore party pretty much all my life.
The news of the biggest beef recall in the states is pretty much the second time I’ve been questioning whether the place on top of the food chain is well-deserved.
The first occasion was reading Eric Schlosser’s Fast Food Nation. The book put me off hamburgers for close to a year.
Might be a good time to experiment with a “diminished red meat” menu for a while again. Not that it would make any dent in the profits of the meatpackers nor give them any reason to change their habits.
Certainly this won’t mean a total surrender, steaks and such are far too delectable fare to abandon. But hamburgers and such have been rare elements on the diet anyway, so this is no big deal, and the recently discovered korean style sesame/chicken salad from Stockmann’s is both tasty and packed with greenish goodness.
