Top 50 2/5
Took a while before managed to carve out the second part of this epic five-post analysis of the top 50 blogs
- DRUDGE REPORT
- Yeah, I’ve browsed this a couple of times. Ugly layout, dirt-digging journalism. I can so give this one a miss. Even though they probably hit jackpot annually with some big story, I can’t be bothered to look for the proverbial needle in a badly managed public toilet.
- Xu Jinglei
- Never read before. Don’t intend to return. Mainly on account of the language - Chinese, mandarinor otherwise goes completely un-understood.
- Treehugger
- Never read before. Pleasant-ish layout. Semi-interesting selection of topics. Slashdot for the greens, pretty much.
- Microsiervos
- Behind a douglascoupland-inspired name seems to be a well-geeked collection of articles. In spanish.
- TMZ
- Yet another genuine gossip site on phony celebrities. Just say no.
- Engadget
- Massive gadget site, with a very prolific update scheme. Occasionally read, mostly via the feed. And I do appreciate the play-by-play narrations of Apple events.
- Marbury
- “British Commentary on the 2008 Race”. If I were a tad more interested in the three-way race, this would be a nifty blog to keep an eye on the contest. That is: “if”.
- Chez Pim
- Nice-looking blog on cooking. Lots more than just recipes. Probably not worthwhile, but certainly pretty enough to look at.
- Basic Thinking
- Geekery auf Deutsch. There are easier ways to maintain Sprachkentnisse, I bet.
- The Sartorialist
- The only blog amongst these I’ve read in paper form. What works rather well in GQ, is not easily applicable to the web. So, yet another unsubscribed one.
Read-ratio of this bunch: 10% (and even that is pushing it), no new catches, one to keep an eye on for a while.

Arrompat:
thanks much, man
