Four seasons - few answers
The double-length finale for the fourth season of Lost just finished. Channel 4 had an aggressive schedule, showing the episodes just a week after they premiered in the states.
The fourth season was shorter than the previous trio, and that made the plotting tighter - there were very few filler moments and the plot was filled to the brim with twists and odd moments that alternately induced déjà vu or felt like foreshadowing for something bigger, just around the corner.
And while the show occasionally feels like the second season of Twin Peaks, introducing characters and plot devices nonchalantly, only to abandon them moments later - in Lost the chickens seem to always come home to roost. It may take a season or two to find out details, and the big picture will elude the viewers up to the end, but if the ride’s as enjoyable as this season has been, I’m in for the final two seasons as well.
