A great movie is perfected by its villain, to paraphrase the late Alfred H.
In my opinion by far the greatest villain of recent years has been Hans Landa, the intelligent and charismatic nazi played by Christopher Waltz in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds.
The smooth and suave villain is nothing but an opportunistic monster, who seems to take a significant delight in inflicting his person and ideals on others.
