For the last image in the year-long series I managed to photgraph the first movement – a motorboat throttling its way out of Pikku Huopalahti.

I forgot the lens hood, hence most of the pictures taken were plagued by lens flare.

The grey skies seem like a chronic feature. Today’s morning was fine, but the clouds quickly built up.

Today was overcast (with an added bonus of fog), rainy and rather chilly.

It’s now spring, the skies are anything but gray, and the snows are all gone.

Even more snow. The Sunday was rather overcast.
The normal shooting location was still under a hill of snow, and the photograph is thus taken nearby.

More snow. Though sadly the sunlight was quite subdued by clouds this late in the afternoon.
The traditional location for the shot was unavailable, under a massive snow pile. Hence the slight variation in the position.

The snow has arrived and transformed the gloom to a bright scene.

This month’s picture of Pikku Huopalahti is darker, way darker than the one from November.
Despite the slightly earlier hour and quietly falling snow, the image approaches black.
The right side is black indeed, whereas the left is dominated by lit buildings. The most interesting section turns out to be the middle – where the lights of automobiles are strung together like a multi-colored string of pearls.
The sky has some color – the receding light on the left hand side is quite prominent in the image.
