This week’s Thursday Challenge is well-timed, the topic is spring.
My take is the attached image, of a pollen-laden willow bloom, taken late saturday evening against the dusk on Pikkuhuopalahti (not that much is in focus).

This week’s thursday challenge is earth.
The selected image takes the viewers to a very specific piece of earth, an ancient rock formation - Uluru in the middle of Australia. The picture was taken on a morning hike around the rock, around 5 am - just when the sun was creeping out behind […]

This week’s thursday challenge is quick.
And what better way to celebrate the adjective than the fastest land mammal: the cheetah. Picture is taken in Washington Zoo, where the animals were only jogging at best - even their large enclosure wouldn’t have given them the ability to even start accelerating.

This week’s thursday challenge concerns pets.
My take on the subject is a photograph of a small catfish, Palespotted Corydoras (Corydoras gossei, kultapäämonninen in finnish). Typically to an armored catfish, it’s a bottom-dweller and happiest when presented with mosquito larvae on soft sand.

This week’s thursday challenge is all about green.
My take is the attached image, of a truly overgrown patch of rainforest in the Blue Mountains near Sydney.
I had several ideas about the subject, but figured out that dollar bills are so 80s, don’t own any St. Patrick’s Day gear and the only […]

This week’s thursday challenge is winter.
My take on the subject is the attached image, taken early on a sunday morning in Salem, Massachusetts, after a heavy snowfall the previous night. This is a scene from the suburbia, heavily cropped in the shown version (a nasty wastebin lurks in the background of the original). […]

This week’s photo thursday challenge is food.
My take on the subject is one of the greatest desserts in the world: the key lime pie. The picture is taken in the Faneuil Hall McCormick&Schmick in Boston. And the pie has indeed been a staple on subsequent visits to the establishment.

This week’s thursday challenge is black.
My take on the subject is one of the darkest pictures I’ve taken, of a leopard in the Singapore Night Safari. Definitely a location recommended to all visitors, but do bring a camera that can cope with the pitch-black conditions, my S3 was by far not adequate.

This week’s thursday challenge topic is nature.
The subject of the image is an unknown lizard species, its photograph taken on a scorched rock in Clear Mountain, Queensland. I got quite close with the camera before the reptile stirred and slunk off to a crevice, periodically returning to bask in the sunlight, but not letting […]

My first ever participation in
thursday challenge tackles the subject of small.
The subject is a species of domestic succulent, goldmoss stonecrop. And the image is indeed heavily cropped on account of less than perfect focus.
